Considering the historical importance and the position that the North-West Axis has always occupied in the fabric of the city of Milan, the scope of the project on one hand, is to create a business and conference center directly and easily accessible by the strong infrastructural connections (either by road or public transport) and on the other hand, to offer facilities and public spaces, including green ones.

The development of the project demanded a wide analysis including aspects related to infrastructure, connections, economic, demographics and social needs of the city; from the wide urban level to the project area level.

Some historical pavilions of the fair are preserved while others are demolished to allow a unified green area. All the new structures are gathered in a single building with an internal court on different levels offering various spaces and an outdoor auditorium. The main facilities include a congress center, with 4 large Halls and offices, a recreational-cultural center, a theater, exhibition spaces and an area for offices and public services of both a municipal and regional nature. Particular attention was paid to the mobility within the project area, solved with an automatic monorail that connects the different points of the entire area.
