I was born in South Africa (1981) and was there until I was 6 years old. In 1987 the family moved back to Israel. We lived in Tel-Aviv until I was about 13 years old and then moved to Hod-Hasharon. One of the main influences on my adolescence was joining the scouts, I was part of the Tzahala tribe for 9 years. It was a place most of my school friends attended and it was the place where most of our significant experiences occurred, we gained many social, leadership, and survival skills accompanied by a set of strong moral values. It was also the place where I started to realize that one of my passions was design. Every major event we had involved the design & construction of many large-scale structures mainly made from wood logs and rope. From a 6m tall dancing Coca-Cola can through wooden roller coasters and up to an amphitheater capable of hosting 300 people, shaped as bee hive hanging from the trees.
Design & functionality were always a part of my life (even when setting up the dinner table). After my service in the IDF (infantry) I spent a year abroad working & traveling. I came back to Israel and managed 2 fashion stores for FOX fashion.
Moving forward I wanted to earn a degree, Architecture was a natural choice for my studies, the combination of science, art and digital tools was a perfect fit for me. While the academic subjects were learned in school, most of the usage of tools & programs was self-taught. I spent about a year as an apprentice in a medium sized studio in Milan led by my 3rd year professor. I graduated from “Politecnico di Milano”, Italy. When I came back to Israel I worked in a small architecture studio in Hod-Hasharon for about a year and continued for the following 2 years as a freelance architect working on several projects for different architects.
In 2017 I started working with my brother on a new system for the Automotive aftermarket sector, Enicar Connected. The main idea was modernizing classic cars and the scope was to develop a kit that would transform an old car into a smart car. At that time the project was running for a couple of years and the product was basically a semi proven concept with no UI, no branding and a very poor UX. I saw a direct connection between what I’ve learned in the field of Architecture and what was needed to create the UI/UX for the system. I knew that my skills would allow me to contribute and elevate not only the system but also the company’s image and branding. When we had the first version ready we established “Enicar Connected” as a small family run business based in Florida, USA. I was titled V.P Operations and my main roles were marketing and all design aspects required by the company.
When COVID 19 hit the world and all major fairs & events were cancelled, we decided to place the business on hold and return home to Israel. During this period, we produced a series of videos about the kit and promoted the business remotely.
Now that the main development of the kit is done, I feel that I did my part for “Enicar Connected”. I discovered a new horizon and I want to dive deeper into the UI/UX world.
I hope you enjoy my portfolio and thank you for your time.
